Day 2 - Exploring Penzance
After finishing breakfast, I went to my room to prepare myself for exploring Penzance. Fran advised me to go to St. Michael's Mount, which is located in Marazion. It took me about one and a half hours to reach St. Michael's Mount. Meanwhile I went to Sainsbury's to get myself a drink. Today it was low tide, so I could walk to the Mount instead of going by boat. The view at the top of the Mount was absolutely stunning. The weather was also really nice: the sun was shining all day long and the temperature was about 12 degrees Celsius. I also went to have a look at the inside of the castle, which is located on St. Michael's Mount. The inside of the castle also looked great. After leaving the castle, I bought myself some honeycomb ice cream, which was really nice. When I finished looking around, I started to walk back to Penzance. Meanwhile I went to McDonald's to have some lunch. I chose some Chicken McNuggets and a Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry, because I was curious what it tastes like. Unfortunately, I did not really enjoy the McFlurry. After leaving McDonald's, I walked back to Penzance.
Because my sister is having her birthday soon, I went to the Buccaneer Shop in Penzance to get her a gift. I can not tell what I bought, as she may be reading this, but I am sure she will like it.
At around half past six it was time for dinner. I can have dinner with Fran and Stuart every day, which is really nice. Today, a guy who lives on the Islands of Scilly and Fran and Stuart's Polish friends, who also live on the Islands of Scilly were also having dinner with Fran and Stuart. We talked a little bit about why I am here and why they were here. We ate pork, mashed potatoes and vegetables, which I really enjoyed. After finishing dinner, I talked with Stuart about football and the weather. Stuart told me that he supports Manchester United. I told him that I support PSV and that I saw the match in the Champions League against Manchester United in the Stadium.
Later on, Stuart called Chris, the Airport Manager of Land's End Airport, to ask whether he or Chris was going to give me a lift tomorrow. Chris is going to give me a lift tomorrow, as Stuart has to arrive at the airport an hour earlier than Chris.
At around nine o'clock, I went to my room to write this blog and to rest a bit. Tomorrow I will have the first day of my internship. I have to wake up at around 8 o'clock. It is going to be exciting, but I am really looking forward to it.
