Day 13 - Engineering, customer service & fire crew

This morning, I had to wake up at 8 AM. I chose the same breakfast again. At 8:45, Bill picked me up to bring me to the Airport.
When I arrived at the Airport, I went to Debbs and she told me that I could go to the engineering section again this morning. They showed me how they recharge the battery we drained yesterday. There was an oil leak in the engine, so they had to repair that. After they repaired it (hopefully), they had to check if the engine still leaked oil. They took the airplane onto one of the runways and I could sit next to one of the engineers. They let the propellers run on maximum power and if the engine still leaked oil, they would definitely be able to see it after the checks. One of the engineers also explained me the functions of a lot of the levers and knobs in the cockpit of an airplane. It was a lot of fun to work with the engineers again.
At 12:30, I had lunch and I chose a sausage roll again. I could have lunch for however long I wanted, so I took a break until 13:30 (a break of 1 hour, just like the rest of the staff). After lunch, I went to Emma, who takes care of the customer service. She basically has to respond to the negative and positive feedback the customers send them. She also has to store every compliment or complaint in the computer or she has to print them. They have to store all the positive and negative feedback by the customers for 6 (!) years. She also has to decide whether the customer gets (a part of) his money back or not. When Emma does not know what exactly happened, because it may have happened at another airport, she investigates it.
At around 15:15, I went to the fire crew again. They first let me extinguish 2 fires, which was good fun. Gary, James and me also made a selfie, which was fun.
After that they showed me how to bandage someone whenever he/she is wounded. This is quite a useful skill to have, I think. They pretended that Kenny was wounded, so I had to practice it on him. It was a lot of fun to be with the fire crew again, so it is a shame that today was the last time I were with them and that I will not see them again. After thanking everyone of the fire crew, I went to the taxi drivers, so that they could bring me back to the B&B.
I came back at the B&B at around 5 o'clock. Between the moment I came back and dinner, I did not really do a lot. At 18:30, we had dinner. We ate spinach, sweet corn and homemade fish pie, which was all really good. As dessert, we ate homemade coffee rolls with a sugar syrup on top of it. It was really really good. After dinner, Fran, Stuart and I talked a bit about how the whole internship went, what I learned from it and what they think about the internship. Stuart said that I will consider it as a life-changing experience when I get older, which will be true, I think. It is always very interesting to listen to Stuart telling stories.
At around 9 o'clock, I went back upstairs to write this blog and to call my grandmother. After finishing this blog, I will take a shower and go to bed.
Tomorrow is the last day of my internship, unfortunately. I have to wake up at 8 AM again, so see you tomorrow!
