This morning I woke up at 8 AM again, with the same breakfast. Derick picked me up at around 8:40. Today was going to be the last day of my internship, which was a shame.
In the morning I went to the control tower to see what they were doing. I actually saw every section of the Airport already, so I went to the control tower again, because it is one of the most interesting sections at the Airport, in my opinion. Neil also showed me some videos of the most dangerous airports in the world, which was fascinating to see.
At around 12:30, I had lunch. I chose a sausage roll for the last time. I talked with Lori for a bit, which was good fun. At 13:30, I said goodbye to Lori and went to the fire crew. It was the other crew this time, so I introduced myself to them in the beginning. First, they let me grease the hoses. After that they let me do some bird scaring, which was fun. I had to use a sort of megaphone with different bird's sounds, to scare the birds away. It was quite effective. After that I had to use the tennis ball, attached to a rope, covered in a handkerchief. Most of the birds were already gone, so it was not that effective. Later on, they showed me a video of a case study of a fire at an art school in Glasgow, which was interesting. In the end, they showed me how to tie different types of knots.
At 4 o'clock, I said goodbye to everyone at the Airport. They were so nice to me and I really enjoyed staying over there. When I came back at the B&B, I went to the town center to buy some sweets for tomorrow, the trip back to home.
At 6 PM, I had dinner. Stuart was still at the Airport and they had to go to a party this evening, so Fran already made dinner for me. Fran made baked potato, spinach, sweet corn and chicken. I loved the dinner, Fran is such a good cook!
Anne wanted to visit me at the Airport with her friend, but unfortunately, due to circumstances, she could not visit me in the afternoon. Therefore she asked me if I still wanted to see or do something this evening. I replied that I would love to visit Porthcurno or Land's End. She told me that she would pick me up at around 8:20. She came all the way from Newquay, a 50 minutes car drive. Once we arrived at Porthcurno, we walked around the coast and the beach for a bit. It was a bit dark and the weather was a bit cloudy, but it was still beautiful. After that we visited Land's End. We were the only ones who were there and you usually have to pay to make a picture of 'the sign'. However, as nobody was there, we could do it for free! There were also some shops over there, but they were closed, obviously. After walking around Land's End for a bit, Anne brought me back to the B&B at 10 o'clock. It was really nice of Anne that she wanted to do something with me this evening! In the end, I gave her a present, because she made it possible to do the internship at Land's End Airport. Thank you Anne!
After packing my bags, calling my mom and taking a shower, I went to bed. Tomorrow I have to wake up at 7:20. See you tomorrow!
